Frequently Asked Questions

  • It depends on the platform, but generally implementation covers initial configuration, connecting integrations, setting up workflows, user access, and testing before go-live. For some apps that also includes data migration or opening setup. The scope varies based on which systems you're implementing and how complex your business is. Everything is agreed upon before work begins.

  • Implementation is billed hourly and scoped as a project. After a discovery conversation, we provide a written estimate of hours before any work begins. There is no retainer and no ongoing commitment required.

  • It depends on the platform. Some apps have historical data worth migrating, others you simply configure and start fresh. Where migration is applicable, we handle the mapping, cleanup, and verification before cutover so you don't go live with bad or incomplete data on the other side.

  • Both. If you already know what you want, we'll implement it. If you're not sure, we'll help you select the right tools for your business before any implementation work begins. We work with these platforms every day and can give you a grounded recommendation based on your size, workflows, and accounting needs.

  • Implementation is a standalone project. Many customers go on to work with Basis 365 for ongoing bookkeeping or outsourced accounting, because starting with a clean system makes that ongoing work significantly better. That's a separate conversation, not a condition of the project.

  • Most likely. Basis 365 holds certifications or partner status with nearly every platform we implement. Beyond credentials, most software vendors provide little to no implementation support. You get documentation and a help center, not a person who understands your business. We bring accounting expertise to every engagement, configure around your specific workflows, and are accountable for the outcome.
